A good friend of mine whom I had met as a young boy would always ask me ''Tim are you o.k.''? My response was always ''yes'' but deep inside of me I knew I was not o.k. I had not been ''o.k.'' since August 18th 1973 the day I was born. During our middle school days he would share his lunch with me, he would share his school supplies with me, heck a time or two he even shared his clothes with me. I always gave him the phone number to where I was residing even though my residency had changed seemingly every 3 years and he always called and we would talk for hours. When we entered High School it was our freshman year at Lincoln High in Port Arthur, Tx and on November 15, 1988 my mother had left this cruel world. After moving from place to place over the next couple years, my friend called me and asked if I was o.k. ''yes'' I replied and he said ''you are lying Tim I can hear it in your voice!'' I then heard him call out for his mother and he said, ''I share my food with him, I share my clothes with him, I share my lunch money with him, now I wanna share you with him mama'' I heard Mama Wes in the background say ''o.k. go get him and bring him home.'' Thank You Chad Butler that was the greatest gift I had ever recieved, and while my mother is showing you around heaven, know that here on earth I have your mothers back!
