DOT Foods

Meet Dot Foods

Robert (RT) and Dorothy Tracy started Dot Foods in 1960, delivering product out of the back of their family station wagon. From those humble beginnings, the couple slowly grew their company to become the largest food industry redistributor in the United States.

While Dot started out selling ice cream ingredients (think milk powder, chocolate, nuts, etc.), we now carry products in a wide variety of channels: foodservice, vending, grocery, convenience stores, drug chains, mass and dollar stores. Our 1,300 trucks transport millions of pounds across the U.S., serving customers in all 50 states and more than 26 countries.

In 2014, we partnered with a Mexican company, RD Amerimex, taking the redistribution concept international. Two years later, our company purchased a redistributor in Canada, establishing operations in the Canadian market for the first time in its history.

Dot Foods Today

After 57 years, our company is still family owned and operated and has stayed true to the values Dot was founded on. We treat our employees like they are family and want to ensure everyone feels included and respected for their contributions and differing ideas. Our owners and senior leaders both appreciate those opinions and count on them to make the company successful.

Last year, our gross sales totaled $6.6 billion, and the company climbed to No. 65 on Forbesí List of Americaís Largest Private Companies. But we donít believe past successes will guarantee future gains. We are constantly generating new ideas to innovate the foodservice distribution industry. We are continuously working to identify new categories and channels. And we are continually looking for new talent to help move the company into the future.
