Integrated operations organization works collaboratively and consistently across the company. The Chief Operating Office includes core operations functions for each of the lines of business under leaders who have joint reporting relationships. Including Front Line Control for each of the lines of business and enterprise functions, Strategy and Operations Planning, Sales Practices Oversight and Management, Enterprise Shared Services, Strategic Execution & Operations, Corporate Properties Group, Business Continuity and Resiliency, Enterprise Customer Excellence, Supply Chain Management and Chief Administrative Office.

The Business Risk and Control team is responsible for partnering with the relevant business group to identify, assess, manage and mitigate current and emerging risk exposures associated with their activities and operations. Monitors, measures, evaluates, and reports on the impact of decisions and controls for the COO Operations Group. Provides consulting and guidance to business groups on development and implementation of innovative, complex and highly integrated business specific risk management programs to identify, assess and mitigate risk. Recognized as an industry and subject matter expert with risk management functional knowledge. Counsels and escalates as front line liaison to Independent Risk Management senior management on the interpretation of policy, guidelines, and governance programs and/or implementation of program elements with high risk or significant impact and complexity. Provides expert level risk management acumen to support the business in designing and implementing risk mitigation strategies, business processes and controls that mitigate risks and address regulatory requirements. Develops and implements risk monitoring and risk reporting processes and controls. Monitors and reports on its risk concentration, current and emerging risk, and risk appetite. Aggregates, evaluates, reports results and escalates. Designs and executes control effectiveness assurance programs for Front Line-owned controls. Leads implementation of complex initiatives with high risk, generally spanning multiple business lines. Partners internally with the business, other business units, Audit, Legal, regulators, and industry partners regarding risk management of business-specific risk programs. Leads project/ virtual teams and mentors but does not manage other team members.

Required Qualifications
•10+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 10+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 7+ years must include direct experience in risk management


Desired Qualifications
•Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis
•4+ years of SQL or SAS experience
•4+ years of Tableau experience


Other Desired Qualifications
•A deep understanding of enterprise risk management framework including risk identification, risk appetite and strategy, risk-related decisions, processes and controls, risk analytics and governance
•Working knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) concepts and policies across risk types (regulatory, financial crimes, credit, operational, etc.)
•Highly professional, adaptable and pro-active mindset
•Demonstrated capability to confidently raise issues, escalate early, and engage in constructive credible challenge independently
•Ability to develop high performing, diverse risk structure in a highly matrix-ed environment
•Pro-actively resolve conflict and maintain objectivity
•Ability to conceptualize, develop, and deliver quality analysis and highly actionable management information
•Demonstrated capacity to pro-actively and independently analyze and solve problems and address risks with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements
•Prior working knowledge of Operational Risk Tools and reporting is highly desired
•Experience in analyzing business line results and applying market condition factors to identify trending, make recommendations for future strategy and alignment
•Strong knowledge and application to database functionality and restructuring data into multiple views
