Communications Director
Double Good creates joy through our product based fundraising platform. Our solution helps organizations raise funds fast. We deliver made-to-order delicious popcorn direct to supporters through an ecommerce platform. We’re 220 employees strong and growing.

At Double Good, we pride ourselves on continuous evolution. The driving force behind constant business growth is the presence of skilled and dedicated leaders. We’re searching for a highly-skilled Communications Director to contribute to Double Good’s growth and help us maintain our position as an innovative authority. The ideal candidate will have experience responding to emergencies such as crises or setbacks with an eye on consistency across releases. This requires significant management skills that can be difficult without previous managerial roles.

This role will be hybrid - you will be based out of our downtown Chicago office but will be required to visit our Burr Ridge and Elmhurst locations once a week.

About the role:
  • Establish and drive a multi-channel communications strategy
  • Prepare and manage all communications material
  • Develop a brand voice and maintain brand integrity across all platforms
  • Manage media relations
  • Develop contacts with media members, influencers and community leaders
  • Lead a team of communication, marketing and design professionals
  • Assist in the creation of digital, video, audio and print content

Experience & Skills we value:
  • Proven work experience as a Communications Director or similar role
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies
  • Understand principles of copywriting, graphic design, layout and publishing
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing
  • Impeccable copywriting and copy editing abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related discipline is preferred

  • Nice to have and/or you’ll learn:
    • Strong interpersonal, the ability to influence stakeholders and keep projects on time
    • Experience in maintaining and building enriching business relationships
    • Ability to handle pressure and make split-second decisions
    • Bachelor’s degree
