Position Overview

We are seeking a Direct Hire Accounting Manager for one of our non-profit clients. This role plays a key part in supporting the financial health of the organization by managing accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and assisting in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• General Accounting:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.

• Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.
  • Provide support during external audits, including preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.

• Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with the Controller and department heads in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Monitor and analyze budget performance, providing variance analysis and financial insights to management.
  • Assist in developing financial forecasts to support strategic planning.

• Internal Controls & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

• Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment to promote continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in accounting
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• Experience in non-profit accounting and familiarity with non-profit healthcare financial management preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.
• Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills.
