INSTRUCTOR AND LAB MANAGER. The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the College of Charleston, located in historic Charleston, SC, is accepting applications for a full-time (nine-month per year) Instructor of Chemistry and Lab Manager position to begin August 16, 2026.

The successful candidate will contribute to the general chemistry curriculum and oversee laboratory operations. Duties will include teaching introductory courses and labs, preparing solutions and materials for 100- and 200-level labs, training and supervising student workers, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and chemical hygiene guidelines in the classrooms and in prep spaces.

A master’s degree in chemistry or in a related discipline is required. The department is seeking a dedicated person with a passion for chemical education who can excel at teaching introductory chemistry courses.
