Description

Associate Sterile Processing Technician at Providence Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, CA. This is a full-time position that will work 8-hour Evening shifts to include Call rotation for weeknight/weekend coverage.

Under general supervision processes surgical instrumentation and supplies throughout the sterilization process using the appropriate personal protective equipment according to procedure. Maintains instruments in a clean, working condition, and stores according to instrument directory.

High Level Disinfection: Under the immediate supervision of the High-level disinfection supervisor, the technician processes all fiber-optic endoscopes, video endoscopes, Endocavity probes, TEE probes, and all other equipment requiring high-level disinfection utilized by the operating room and ancillary departments.

Performs daily sterilizer biological monitoring, instrument sterilization, and all associated documentation. Is proficient in required competencies.

Required qualifications:

• Within 1 year of hire National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association Or



• Within 1 year of hire National Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution

Preferred qualifications:

• Coursework/Training and Completion of Central Service Certification course. Or Sterile processing, instrument room, or central supply experience.



• Coursework/Training and High-Level Disinfection: Training in decontamination, processing, sterilization, quality control Flexible scope reprocessing.



• Upon hire: Central Service Certification



• Experience working in a healthcare setting

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
