ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB is seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer to join our dynamic and growing Structures group in our Watertown, MA office.
In this position, under the direction of senior staff, you would support all aspects of transportation related structural design and engineering projects including assisting in field work, preparing plan sets, performing design calculations, detailing, and assisting in the preparation of construction documents.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the structural design of transit and highway structures from conceptual to final design
- Participate in site visits to collect data necessary for preliminary design
- Assist in drafting of project details and plans using Microstation, AutoDesk or other CAD software
- Preparation of quantity calculations and cost estimate
- Assists in preparing contract documents and specifications

Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred)
- 0-1 years of structural engineering experience
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $82,000-84,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
