This role sits at the intersection of application engineering, database performance, incident management, and business operations. You will own production stability, lead high-severity incidents, work directly with business users, and drive automation and reliability improvements across .NET applications, SQL Server, and API integrations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. Key Responsibilities - Provide Level 3 production support for .Net based financial applications.
- Lead and drive P1 / P2 incident bridges, coordinating across application, database, infrastructure, network, and vendor teams.
- Perform rapid triage, impact analysis, mitigation, and recovery for high-severity incidents.
- Own post-incident root cause analysis (RCA), including corrective and preventive actions
- Ensure incidents are documented clearly with business impact, technical findings, and long-term fixes.
Application & Platform Reliability - Support and troubleshoot .NET-based applications, background services, batch jobs, and schedulers.
- Diagnose and resolve SQL Server performance issues, including, Query tuning and optimization, Index strategy and execution plan analysis, Deadlocks, blocking, and resource contention
- Monitor and support API integrations (REST/SOAP), including downstream and third-party dependencies.
- Partner with development teams to improve application resilience, scalability, and fault tolerance.
Automation & Continuous Improvement - Identify and drive automation opportunities to reduce manual effort, recurring incidents, and operational toil.
- Develop or contribute to scripts, tools, or workflows for monitoring, alerting, recovery, and validation.
- Improve observability through meaningful metrics, logs, dashboards, and alerts.
- Contribute to runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base articles to standardize support processes.
Business & Stakeholder Engagement - Work closely with business users, operations teams, and product owners to understand functional workflows and production impact.
- Translate technical issues into clear, business-friendly communication during incidents and reviews.
- Support business events such as end-of-day processing, statement generation, payment processing, and funding cycles.
- Provide input into risk assessments, audit readiness, and compliance activities.
Required Skills & Experience - Strong hands-on experience with .NET / C# applications in production environments.
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including Query tuning and performance optimization, indexing strategies and execution plan analysis, High availability concepts (AGs, failover, backups, restores)
- Experience supporting API-based (REST, SOAP) integrations and distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of production observability, alerting, and troubleshooting practices.
SRE / Operations Skills - Proven experience handling high-severity (P1/P2) incidents in enterprise environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to RCA.
- Experience identifying and reducing operational toil through automation.
- Ability to work calmly and decisively under pressure.
Domain Knowledge - Good understanding of the lending and financial services domain, including concepts such as
Loan origination, Underwriting and servicing, Payments, ACH, statements, and charge-offs - Regulatory and compliance considerations in financial systems
Communication & Collaboration - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage confidently with business stakeholders, developers, infrastructure teams, and leadership.
Strong documentation skills for incidents, runbooks, and operational procedures QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. - Experience in banking or consumer finance environments with good exposure to lending domain.
- Familiarity with DevOps / CI-CD pipelines and modern deployment practices.
- Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk) and change management processes
