Eula M. Young has extensive experience working and volunteering with girls, a former Girl Scout Leader in the Bronx, New York, she volunteered her time to a year round troop, to develop the education and building self-esteem of young girls. Her troops had 100 girls from Daisies - Senior Cadet’s. When she wasn’t volunteering with the Girl Scouts she spent her time working in her children’s elementary school as a Parent Association Member at Large, Secretary and President of the Parents Association working endless hours to help build a south Bronx School with the Principle and the Community School Board. She not only help pass policies to further the education of the children in C.E.S. 53x, she also worked to revised the by-laws of 53x which at that time was over 20 years old.
One of Ms. Young’s proudest moments as a Girl Scout Leader was marching in the Hero’s Parade for Nelson Mandela on June 20, 1990. New York gave Mr. Mandela a hero’s parade and Ms. Eula’s girls scout troops were invited and marched in that parade right behind Nelson Mandela’s float. Ms. Young has received numerous awards for Outstanding Achievement in Leadership from the Girt Scout Council of Greater New York, The Council of Supervisors and Administrators of the City of New York Parent Leadership Award, Certificate of Services Achievements, Certificate of Merit to the Children of C.E.S 53x just to name a few.
