This article is about finding the right investor(s) in your company and what characteristics to look while searching.
Finding investors for your company can be a great way to obtain capital; but are there good or bad investors? Absolutely! According to the article, the three characteristics to look for in a potential investor are:
1. A person who is knowledgeable about the field you are in.
2. A person who has had the experiences of the ups and downs of a start-up company.
3. A person who shares interests in growing the company and is invested in terms of time as well as money.
Any investor can provide financial stability; but if their only goal is return on investment, it may put pressure on you and the company to perform, which may lead to non-financial instabilities. A good investor is one which also helps the company outside of financial needs, such as advise and leadership. A good investor will show you the path to success. A great investor will lead you to success.
Of course, these investors are had to pick out, especially since decisions are made upon initial meet and greets rather than after a relationship is made. However, it is not impossible to find the investor upon initial judgment. As long as they understand your passion, contribute to your thoughts and ideas, an agreement or relationship can be built without having to make in-the-moment decisions.
