Characteristics Entrepreneurs Share That Make Them Successful (376 hits)

No one is born an entrepreneur as they say however there are quite a few characteristics that make one person more likely to become one than another.

They are Passionate

If you’re someone with an idea, that’s great but there are about a million other people with ideas too. What differentiates one idea from the other is the level of passion that supports it. Let’s be honest, what ever it is you do you need to sell. Sell yourself, sell your product, sell your idea. Passion for your venture is how others get to see your vision. They are the ones who will be buying and using your idea which will determine whether it is successful. If you don’t have a deep passion for your own ideas you may want to reconsider it because if your not buying it, others won’t either.

2. They embrace failure

“You try you fail, you try you fail. But the only true failure is when you stop trying.”
- Leota form The Haunted Mansion

No one is perfect and surly no one will land a million dollar venture on their first try but that shouldn’t stop you from trying. Business comes with mistakes just as life comes with them. We learn from our mistakes and take them with us on our next journey. Entrepreneurs are not afraid to fail; ever failure is a lesson and will only make you stronger.

3. They’re constantly solving problems

That’s just what entrepreneurs do. People encounter countless problems every day, some more serious than others, but entrepreneurs do not just deal with them but rather try to solve them. Innovation and efficiency are their best friends. They’re always thinking that there is a better way to get something accomplished. There is a businesses in everything you see and do and entrepreneurs are there to find it.

4. They’re okay with being broke

Another way I’d like to put this is that they’re patient. No one likes to be broke but entrepreneurs are okay with it because they ultimately know that they’ll be rich one day and are just working toward the day it happens. If your not thinking you’ll be rich one day well then you have no faith in yourself or your idea and you are not an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs will go as far as living on their studio floor for months or years to make their idea happen. Being broke is simply a part of the process.

5. Last but not least, they are outgoing

The more people you talk to and get to know the better. Networking is key to becoming successful. Being outgoing comes naturally for entrepreneurs because they are confident in themselves and their ideas. Confidence is appealing. When you are able to speak with certainty and enthusiasm people will stop and listen. Go out and talk about your venture; you never know who’s listening.

If you do not share these characteristics don’t be discouraged. While some of these traits can be learned and acquired over time, not having these characteristics does not mean you cannot become or do not have what it takes to become an entrepreneur. It may be easier to become an entrepreneur for those that hold such qualities however with the right creativity, motivation, and determination anyone is at the same advantage.
