Hello Fellow Entrepreneurs,
I want to introduce what I believe will shock the food truck industry. I am looking to launch a healthy food truck business. The premise of my business plan is to partner with local farmers to provide healthy food alternatives through a food truck. The business model looks to introduce food trucks to colleges near the greater metropolitan area. The problem that many college students face is the lack of healthy food options. Although many college students are health conscious, they are subjected to eating unhealthy foods due to their time constraints and lack of resources to prepare these healthy foods. The solution to this growing epidemic is to introduce a healthy food truck option for students on the go. The business model is to partner with local farmers to obtain healthy farm grown goods and prepare delicious meals that can be offered through our healthy food truck. The key to our business is partnering with key farmers who provide an array of healthy food options. Rutgers alone has 70,000 students/staff whom are potential customers. Obtaining 1% of the Rutgers population accounts for 700 students, and assuming on average a customer spends $7.50 that approximates to $5250. Through adequate marketing, I strongly believe obtaining 1% of customers is an achievable milestone. After many successful years of business, I hope to expand to different campuses. I would appreciate any feedback or opinions on the matter. Thank you.
